Copycat Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing / Seasoning Mix
Who doesn't love Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing? We use it for a variety of things...salads, dips and if you include the dry seasoning mix, we also use it for crackers and to coat meat. Did you know it contains MSG? Yep and for that reason I no longer buy it, so I was happy to find a recipe that mimics it. Even though the recipe I found on the web fell short in taste and consistency, I was able to tweak it to perfection! ENJOY!!!
Ingredients
1/2 c. dry buttermilk
1 T. parsley
1 t. dill weed
1 t. onion powder
1 t. onion flakes
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. ground pepper
Directions for the seasoning mix
Add all the ingredients into a bowl and blend well. Great for dredging chicken before coating with breadcrumbs and frying!
Directions for the copycat Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
Add 5 T. of the seasoning mix to 3/4 c. of mayonaise, 1/2 c. milk and 1/4. sour cream. Mix well.
Refrigerate for several hours to allow the flavor of the herbs to blend into the dressing.
